I like making music to express what I'm feeling (which I'm certain is what a lot of artists do)... My inspiration comes to me literally whenever and wherever, the basic lyrics for Alone were written in the middle of English class. I do hope you enjoy my music as much as I enjoy making it, and thank you for listening!
love is a prison
a christmas armistice
Starting the process for writing this song, I had only two criteria for myself; have it be a Christmas song, and have it be free of religious bias and consumerist themes.
After much pondering, and going down dead-ends about love and romance, I suddenly remembered the story of the 1914 Christmas Truce, or Christmas Armistice - a story only about friendship and the true Christmas spirit. A night when soldiers from opposing sides lay down their guns, moved away from their mortars and joined each other in a good-spirited game of soccer through the waste which was No Man's Land. A night when they briefly joined hands in unity and comradery, shared drinks and exchanged small gifts of rations and possessions. As soon as I remembered this story, I knew it was the song. To me, this represents the true Spirit of Christmas. |
